Tiny robots theorized by Dr. John Storrs Hall with 12 extending arms that would link up with neighboring foglets to share information and energy forming a continuous network. These devices, in the billions, would act as one continous substance. They are considered the nanotechnological versions of a Swiss Army Knife.

The visualization developed helped show how an individual foglet, 10 micrometers wide, would extend to 100 micrometer as the arms articulated outwards.
